QUAD CORE COMPUTER FROM AMD IN SPIDER PLATFORM
Advanced Micro Device (AMD) launched Spider platform. Spider platform is name of three components: AMD Phenom processor, HD 3800 ATI Radeon Graphic card, and chipset AMD 7 Series. With spider, AMD try to get game player, media hobbies, and commonly computer users.
Each of components has their ability. AMD Phenom is first quad core from AMD. Not like Intel which joined dual core processor, this AMD product indeed from four separate cores.
HyperTransport 3.0 in AMD Phenom definite traffic from RAM to processor. The traffic does not have stopper thing. Phenom also complemented with 1 MB level three cache (L3), beside level 2 and level 1 cache that commonly plugged. There are two model of AMD Phenom, 2.2 GHz and 2.3 GHz.
Second component, ATI Radeon HD 3800 graphic card. This graphic card designed to support DirectX 10.1 technology. DirectX 10.1 is graphic technology which plan to implement to Windows Vista Service pack 1
For video lover, Unified Video Decoder (UVD) technology is interesting; enclose two codec which use for high definition video, VC-1 and H.264.
There are three model of chipset in AMD 7 Series: 790FX, 790X, and 770. Each designed for users who want more activity, for gamer and video, also mainstream.
