HUMAN BASED SEARCH ENGINES IS BACK
Years ago, when Yahoo! still baby, Yahoo is human based search engine. The material was collected, grouped, and edited by human before launched in their directory.
With huge growth of domain in the internet, human based is no longer effectively. Search engines begun use crawler or commonly mention as spider.
Crawler search engines become dominated and directory search engine defeated. But, the automatics search engines have minus factor. In order to valuating data, human is still better than computer algorithm.
Based on that reason, Wikipedia right now have Wikiasari, a human based search engine. Before Wikiasari, human based search engine concept have already made in May 2007. It named Mahalo.
Mahalo search engine do not use directory and category like yahoo appearing previous years ago. Users enter keywords like commonly enter keyword in crawler search engines, but search engine result will appear as keyword catalog. The weakness is of course the scoop is limited. Mahalo editors focused in commonly keywords.
Can human based search engines become popular again? Wait and see. Remember the fact, continuation of human based search engines determine by active participation of the users.
