Speed is the most important thing in computation. Faster a computer, faster we finish our work. So, Intel, HP, Microsoft Corporation, NEC Corporation, NXP Semiconductors, and Texas Instruments Incorporated have been beginning to develop one of important element of personal computer, USB (Universal Serial Bus) port.

Port maybe not important compared with processor or RAM. But, if personal computer in touch with peripherals like printer, flash disk, scanner, or others computers, port take important portion.

Right now, a lot of multimedia instrument created and become popular, such as iPod. Those multimedia instruments have to served with faster data connector because the data is become bigger everyday.

Present USB standar (USB 2.0 Hi-Speed) in theoretically can move data until 480 Mbps. USB 3.0 which submitted by Intel and it friends will jack up the speed until ten times more fast than 480 Mbps. USB 3.0 also support optic technology.

Besides the speed factor, this new standard will reduce power consumption. USB 3.0 will launch in middle of next year.
